We design, innovate, fabricate and test fixed Wing UAVs. The team's objective is to allow students to transcend themselves and sharpen their skills in the aero domain. The team is enriching this learning experience by participating in a hands-on engineering challenge at the Aero Design Series at the national and international levels.

01What is Team Maverick India?
Team Maverick India is the collegiate aerospace and aero design team of Pimpri Chinchwad College of Engineering (PCCoE), Pune. Founded in 2021, the student team designs, builds and flies fixed-wing UAVs and competes in national and international aero design competitions.
02What is SAE Aero Design, and how has Team Maverick India performed?
SAE Aero Design is an international collegiate engineering competition where student teams design, build and fly a radio-controlled aircraft against a mission brief. Team Maverick India earned Overall World Rank 6 and World Rank 2 in Design at SAE Aero Design West 2025 with MOHAV-II, after a World Rank 10 finish with MOHAV-I.
03Which other aerospace competitions does the team compete in?
Beyond SAE Aero Design, the team has competed at SAEISS DDC, winning AIR 1 overall and 1st in Technical Presentation in 2023 with Vayutej, and at NIDAR 2026, where it secured All India Rank 2 in Disaster Management.
04What aircraft has the team built?
Six fixed-wing UAVs since 2021 (Prototype-1, Trailblazer, Vayutej, MOHAV-I, Shourya and MOHAV-II), plus VTOL and hexacopter UAVs for NIDAR 2026. Full specifications and results are on the Planes page.
05Does Team Maverick India offer drone workshops or UAV services?
Yes. The team runs hands-on drone and RC aeromodelling workshops for schools and colleges, including Drone Workshop 2026 with ISHRAE Pune Chapter, and offers custom UAV design and development support. See the Services and Forum pages.
06How can I support or sponsor a student aerospace team in India?
